Sammy & Connor | Milwaukee War Memorial

Sammy & Connor are married and they celebrated in a big way at the War Memorial!

Our summer in Milwaukee has been hot. There’s no other way to describe it. It’s just one of those years that has surprised us with record temperatures in July. As a naturally cold person, I’m (Shannon) not complaining. However, with the heat has brought some real nice pop-up storms.

On Sammy & Connor’s wedding day, it started out blazin’ hot. So hot that we actually felt a bit nervous for their non-air conditioned church ceremony. But, mother nature works in mysterious ways! As guests arrived to the ceremony, a pop-up storm rolled through hitting Milwaukee like a ton of bricks. Think umbrellas flipping over wind with sheets of rain! It was an intense front that also brought in cool air. The church cooled down about 20 degrees and it was absolutely perfect for Sammy & Connors wedding ceremony!

The weather after the ceremony was a bit spotty so we made a pit stop at Finks for some pinball. The skies totally cleared up by cocktail hour and guests were able to enjoy cocktail hour on their gorgeous-view patio. Sammy actually said the biggest surprise for her was “…the weather clearing up for comfortable cocktails on the terrace after a thunderstorm during the ceremony and the hottest, humidest day of the year.”

Connor’s biggest surprise was “TJ’s photo ideas (in a good way)”. This was goes into one of Sammy’s words of advice for future couples: “And trust your photographer, especially if they ask you to lay on the ground in the middle of the Oak Leaf Trail.” See the post to check out what we’re referring to.

Sammy & Connor both agreed their favorite part of the day was the dance floor! “Connor and I had a tough time choosing a song because our music tastes are so different. We asked Ray from Sound by Design to mesh Ends of the Earth by Lord Huron & covered by Kenny Chesney. It was the first time we heard it, and it was perfect.”
