You may remember Melissa and Gerard from their summer engagement session. Melissa’s son, Ardi, also filled a post with his huge personality in early November. We’re excited to bring the family back for Melissa and Gerards big day. The truth is, I’ve known Gerard long before the engagement session. Gerard and I go back way to middle school. Additionally, his aunt, Amy, and my mom were actually best friends in high school so our families have a lot of history together. It was exciting to be involved in their big day. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, we can’t thank everyone around us enough for constantly referring us to your friends and family. We’ve grown a little business on your word-of-mouth and we are so grateful.
We began the day with Melissa at the Iron Horse but scooted over to Warehouse 1 (Gerards workplace) for their first look. Shortly after the first look, Ardi saw mom all dressed up for the first time. While Shannon teared up, I was shocked to see how shy Ardi got! Compared to his portraits earlier in the month, he was so quiet! It was a very cool moment between the two. The remainder of the day was at Pier Wisconsin where we had an awesome view of the lake. The girls were troopers and fought the November cold for some outdoor photos. Melissa and Gerard were also up for all of our ideas and completely trusted us, which is a huge unspoken compliment for us. The ceremony overlooked the lake in the Pilot Room and the party continued all night long.
Here is how we saw their day:
