Kelsey & Will are married!
Throughout their engagement Kelsey & Will have been the most genuinely kind couple. They welcomed us to Portland for their engagement photos and we ended up spending an entire day with them. Honestly, they picked us up in the early AM and dropped us back off long after dark. They took us to some of their favorite Portland spots along the coast and some more once we were back in the city. They showed us snow, sand, water, ancient trees and some of the best Thai food we’ve ever had. Yes – we will return to Pok Pok someday!
When they came home for their late September wedding, Wisconsin was less than welcoming. A lot of rain mixed with humidity equals an enormous amount of mosquitos. With their wedding at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, avoiding flying, biting pests was impossible. However, after the First Look, Kelsey & Will loaded up on bug spray. Yep – over their wedding garb, they protected themselves as much as they could. Enjoying their time together was important and they didn’t want bugs getting in the way.
On our prior visits to Schlitz Audubon this year, the lake has been too high to walk along the beach. Finally, for Kelsey & Will, we got a few feet of sandy beach. Once we got down there, their love for the outdoors came out. They took off their shoes and walked down the sandy beach enjoying the vastness of Lake Michigan. They actually said this was one of their favorite moments of the day! Other favorites: “the ceremony and being surrounded by all of our friends and family!!”
The change in climates also made Kelsey sick the week of the wedding. Her unique advice to future couples: “Take daily vitamin C or zinc the week prior to the wedding to help not to get sick!” Her and Will also said, “Take the planning process one small step at a time to not get overwhelmed, have wedding planning nights at a brewery to ease planning tension. You won’t regret a day-of coordinator.”
