Courtney & Owen are married!
When we first met with Courtney & Owen, they lived in the Milwaukee area. Courtney grew up in Lake Forest, so they’re wedding would be held there at the beautiful Elawa Farm. These two have been all over. They went to school on the east coast, they came to Milwaukee with work and are in Chicago for the foreseeable future.
Along with bringing some Milwaukee flare they grew to love to their wedding (ah hum, insert The Uttkes), it seemed like every guest was from a different part of the country. They had people from every corner representing every part of their lives. From high school, college, work. Courtney & Owen are the type of people to accumulate… people. They just have those personalities. We didn’t know this until after the wedding but Courtneys sister made her a book with notes from each bridesmaid, close family members, friends and her dad. She said, “This was so surprising, and was so special. I feel thankful to have this book still to relieve the day.”
These two had a long engagement. 21 months to be exact. Even with this amount of time, Courtney & Owen said there were still moments when it felt like all this planning wasn’t going to get one. They said:
Our advice is that truly, on the day of your wedding, the exact shade of the color on your menus, the song list you meticulously curated, the types of flowers that you spent 2 weeks deciding on will not matter. There is always going to seem like a million details to plan, and while they are important to making your special day unique and custom to you and your significant other, do not let it take away from what the day is really meant to be about. Take a moment to realize on your wedding day that there are so many people who have come to celebrate the beginning of your married life together. The details of the day will work out how they are supposed to be, and you should embrace the day, no matter what, and have the best day of your life.
Congratulations Courtney & Owen!
