When the wedding day approaches, I’ll always talk to the couple about their expectations for the day. Most of the time, they’ll give me a few ideas but tell me to “do my thing”. I can’t speak for other wedding photographers but even though I do go into the day with a small idea of what I’d like to do, the majority of the time I’ll let the day dictate how I’m going to document the wedding. Wedding days move at a fairly quick pace and you never really know what to fully expect. That being said, as soon as we arrived in Sturgeon Bay and saw the ceremony site, I knew I wanted to process Jessa and Ryan’s wedding very differently than I normally do. The whole day just had a very rustic and vintage feel to it. Jessa and her maid of honor sister, Natalie, are Etsy superstars with their handmade jewelry company (check it out – http://www.etsy.com/shop/getnoticed) and you could tell Jessa put a lot time into making the day very personal with all handmade details.
I know the processing is quite a bit different than what you normally see here on my website but I think for this wedding it fit perfectly. Don’t worry, it’s not a permanent change for me but I really love the look of this wedding. Thanks to Jessa and Ryan for letting me “do my thing”.
