Erin and Phil are married! They’re ceremony and reception were held right here in Milwaukee at the Marcus Center of Performing Arts.
These two have one of our favorite engagement stories to date. Phil had planned an awesome night out for the two of them – dinner at Bel Air and Jazz in the Park. He was going to propose and surprise Erin with a long weekend in Marco Island, Florida, scheduled to leave the following day (I think I’m getting this right). However, Phil mixed up the day. Erin said, “he didn’t want me to see what he was doing” so he just didn’t physically look at the reservations in months. So, when the day came, Phil was checking into their flights he realized the actual flight had just departed and he was one-day off! Erin said, “he called me and told me to pack a bag (I had caught on by this point) and called my mom to find us a flight to book.”Erin was training for a marathon at the time and had just gone on a run, so when Phil got home I was in the bathroom getting ready. He got down on one knee and proposed in the bathroom. The two ended up on a plane to Florida a few hours later to celebrate their engagement for the weekend!
Throughout the planning process, Erin & Phil were so sweet. Whenever we saw them, it was apparent why they were getting married. They have fun together, they look at each other “like that” and are surrounded by tons of family and friends. Erin & Phil also didn’t lose track of what the wedding was really about. After their ceremony, these two marched right out to Water Street and walked over the Rumpus Room. We followed, of course, but it was just the four of us. It was so important to Erin & Phil to have a moment to themselves and we were happy they invited us along. We snapped a few photos inside Rumpus Room, then let them drink their champagne in wedding-bliss peace. Their advice to future brides and grooms reflects this. “Schedule in moments in the day just for the two of you. Whether or not you do a First Look, make sure you plan time to be together, just the two you, to bask in the happiness and excitement of the day. We can see how easy it would be to get caught up in the excitement of the day and forget to spend time TOGETHER.” They also advised to “hire well! I’m sure problems came up throughout the day, but I didn’t hear about any of them. I know this was because we hired experts and professionals to take care of our day.”
Regardless of how sweet Rumpus Room was, it wasn’t their favorite part of the day. It was their “First Look and sitting at the head table looking out at everyone there to celebrate with us!”
Without further ado, here’s how we saw their day…
