Callie & Joe | A Beautiful Friday Wedding at the Cooperage

share /

Oh, Callie and Joe! What a day, what a couple. Their wedding was a perfect blend of sweet moments, nerves, a whole lot of love and sawdust.

Let’s talk about Callie. Before seeing Joe, she was a bundle of nerves with perfectly done hair and makek-up. As soon as she caught sight of Joe for their first look, it was like a magic spell. “All of it just melted away when I saw Joe,” she told us. “He always brings me back to earth.”

Speaking of bringing things to earth, Joe (The Astronaut on Earth) literally walked down the aisle thanks to the incredible help of Ashley Miller at the Neuro Recovery Clinic at Marquette. Ashley, you are a superhero! Without your dedication and hard work in getting Joe ready to use the exoskeleton, this incredible moment wouldn’t have been possible. Thank you for helping make aisle walking dreams come true.

The baumstamm sägen! This isn’t just any log-sawing event. This was a meticulously planned, multi-person operation. A huge shout-out to the men in Joe’s life who made this happen:

  • Joe’s dad: For restoring a super cool old family saw. Talk about sentimental and … sharp. See what I did there?
  • His brothers: Who bravely ventured to Michigan to source and transport the perfect piece of wood. Dedication!
  • His friend Evan: Who not only painted the sawhorse but also brought it to the venue. Artistic and practical!
  • Joe’s brother-in-law: The master of contingency, who had a Plan B up his sleeve just in case that log put up too much of a fight.

Luckily, Plan A worked like a charm, and Callie and Joe (with a little elbow grease and encouragement from the guests) sawed their way into married life!

What an honor to photograph this day! Congratulations Callie & Joe!
