Melanie & Joe were married in Delafield at the St. John’s Military Academy chapel. The celebration continued at Legends of Brandybrook.
After high school, Melanie and Joe parted ways. Joe went on to UW-Whitewater and Melanie to UW-Madison. After graduation, they were brought together again and it’s been that way since. As their families came together in August, it was quite the celebration. Church was packed and I don’t think Brandybrook could have got one more person in the doors. The energy was high all day and you couldn’t have peeled the smile off their faces.
Melanie and Joe agreed that their favorite part of the day was “Seeing each other while walking down the aisle and standing up together in the church. Then at the reception seeing all of our family and friends around us filling the room-such an amazing feeling to know everyone was there to celebrate with us”
TJ and I had a lot of favorite parts of the day. You’ll see them below. One thing to highlight was Melanie and Joe’s choice of wedding favors. Instead of the traditional small gift, they made a donation to the Make A Wish foundation and Bike MS. We loved this because traditional favors are often left behind, tossed away or unappreciated. Although the day was all about Melanie and Joe, they were still thinking of others.
Since my younger brother and Joe are very good friends, we had a wedding party full of familiar faces. It didn’t stop there though; just about every wedding guest was a friend. It was such a treat and honor to photograph Melanie and Joe, their family and friends, on this – oh so special – day!

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day? “The best man losing the ring bearers pants (luckily found just before the ceremony) and then him forgetting the rings in the car and having to run out at the start of the ceremony to get them-both went unnoticed for us and was a funny story after!”
Any advice for future Bride and Groom’s currently planning their wedding? “We truly enjoyed the planning of the wedding and tried to not worry about all of the little details. In the end, we both knew there was nothing that would affect how happy we would be on our wedding day. In the end we had no regrets and had the most perfect day!”
