Meet Erika and Luke!

We’ve said it time and time again. And we’ll say it again in the future. Hearing how our brides and grooms meet is one of the most interesting things to us. Granted, there are tons of interesting things that go along with getting married. But one of the most unique things to hear, is their story before meeting us.

Erika and Luke met in college. He was in the Business Management program and Erika was in Accounting so they had similar courses.  Since Erika’s last name begins with an L and Luke’s with a K, they were seated next to each other alphabetically quite often. When they realized they also had the same time period between classes, they began eating lunch together on a regular basis.  About a year after they first met, their first date was to see Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014.

When it came time for their engagement, Luke had something a little more planned out at Devil’s Lake.  Before going there with Erika, his best man and his fiance (a “double date”), Luke and their friend Mo went up to scout. Mo is a talented local photographer and you may recognize her from our blog as well!  Luke planned a double date with his best man and his fiance at Devil’s Lake. Well, the plan worked and Mo was able to capture the moment when Luke got down on one knee to surprise Erika.

Erika and Luke are getting married this coming October at Rustic Manor 1848. The venue is right across from Erika’s work!  My grandma used to say: “A watched pot never boils”.  Their wedding though, will be there before you know it.
