Michelle & Tom are married!

A few years ago, we met Michelle & Tom at Michelle’s sister, Theresa’s, wedding. She also stood up in a few other weddings we had the pleasure of photographing. Since Michelle & Tom have been together since high school, we got to know Tom too! When we got the email that these two warm and witty humans were planning their early November wedding, we were excited to be included in their engagement and wedding plans!

Michelle & Tom’s story is easily a favorite of ours. They told us all the juicy details while walking around Chicago for their engagement session so hopefully we can do the story justice. While in high school, Michelle & Tom happened to be in one class together. Sex Education. As if things weren’t awkward enough, they shared glances, smiles and eventually began talking. They don’t exactly remember their first date but Michelle’s dad does.

During his toast, he revealed the memories he has of the first time Tom came over. Michelle & Tom were watching a movie, probably getting a sugar high off Mountain Dew. He expressed how special it’s been to not only see Michelle find her match, but actually seeing Michelle & Tom (literally) grow up together.

Their wedding day in Chicago was absolutely perfect. For the First Look, we ventured up to the rooftop deck of The University Club of Chicago; the exact spot Tom proposed. The colors in Chicago were peaking so we made our way through Lincoln Park before the ceremony. Although it was chilly in the city, we moved quickly and got Michelle & Tom to their party at the University Club. Both Michelle & Tom’s favorite part of the day was the reception. For Michelle, she loved the First Dance and Tom loved the band, Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press.
