Abbey & Matt are married! Their entire day was held at Rustic Manor 1848 in Hartland, Wisconsin.
“We’re planning a non-traditional, Game of Thrones inspired wedding. Lots of gold, rustic backdrop and natural accents with a little flair. We’re trying to walk the fine line between being badass and kitschy.” With that, Abbey & Matt sold us on their late February wedding at Rustic Manor. For any Game of Thrones fan, winter is essentially vital to set the proper scene. The barn of Rustic Manor holds the homey atmosphere Abbey & Matt were looking for. It would the perfect setting. Well, the day came, the scene was set but there was no snow in sight. In fact, in true Wisconsin fashion, it was a rare 65°.
Regardless of the mild weather, they’re vision came to life. There were so many details, it’s hard to sum up the words. It was one of the most beautiful weddings we’ve had the pleasure of being a part of. Vendors came together with family to create the most personal touches. It was gorgeous!
Here are a few important people who played a key role is making Abbey & Matt’s day so special:
- Abbey’s mom, Judy, created all of the centerpieces.
- Their friend, James, officiated the ceremony.
- Matt’s dad, Jim, built both of their thrones.
- Matt’s Aunt, Jeannie, crafted the Miller quilt hanging from the balcony.
- Abbey’s uncle, Rick, created their Save the Dates, animal signs on the cups and on the quilt.
- Abbey’s friend and bridesmaid, Lindsay, created Abbey’s feather capelet.
- Matt’s belt was crafted by Mitchell Leather using Abbey’s father’s belt buckle.
With so many details being handled by others, Abbey & Matt still made the day their own. They said, “It should be a true reflection of who you are as a couple and the things that matter most to you.” The went on to give advice to future brides and grooms, “Take a moment to savor all of the love and support you feel on your wedding day as you are surrounded by the ones you love most. It’s the only time that they will ALL be in one place.”
What was their favorite part of the day? “Definitely the first look. It was so exciting to see each other for the first time and be able to experience that moment in a private, intimate setting,” they agreed. With so much going on in the day, there still managed to be a few surprises. One of the first dances of the evening was a special choreographed dance by their nieces, Aubrey, Hannah and Natalie.
Abbey & Matt, congratulations!
