Lindsey & Josh are married! Their wedding ceremony was held at the beautiful Schlitz Audubon Nature Center. The celebration continued at the historic Pritzlaff in Milwaukee.
Since our very first meeting with Lindsey and Josh, we’ve been looking forward to their wedding day. Schlitz Audubon is one of our favorite places in the state to photograph. Following that with the reception at the Pritzlaff. Can the day get better? Yes… add an awesome bride and groom. So, how did these two meet? They officially met about six years ago, but didn’t start dating until four years ago when Josh came to Milwaukee to celebrate his birthday. Lindsey met up with his group of friends and the rest is history.
Josh proposed on Friday, August 21st, 2015. Josh suggested they go for a walk after work down by the lake. As they arrived at Juneau Park, Josh pretended to have a cramp in his leg to get Lindsey to stop walking. When Lindsey went to help, Josh got down on one knee and proposed. As they planned their wedding together, they made the day perfect and a reflection of their own personalities. Their advice to future brides and grooms is: “Get started on the planning right away, but don’t make impulsive decisions. Research and get reviews of your venues, caterers, hotels etc. Take the time to do the deep digging on the front end, because it eliminates stress as the day approaches. Also, if you don’t see each other until the ceremony, take a few minutes afterward to have an “alone” moment with just the two of you to let the ceremony sink in. Have fun, it won’t go as perfectly as you planned, but it will go fast. Enjoy the perfect and imperfect parts too. It’s what makes the wedding day memorable.”
Lindsey said her favorite part of the day was turning the corner at on the Schlitz Audubon patio to walk up the aisle. She also favored hearing Josh’s vows and was completely taken back by them. “They were thoughtful, personal and genuine,” she said. Josh said his most favorite moment of the day was seeing Lindsey for the first time. He said “I didn’t have words for how I actually felt when I saw how beautiful Lindsey looked.”
