In May of 2012, Laura was living in Chicago, and David in New York City. Through a Midwest connection, friends and the social media powers that be, Laura and David’s first time meeting in person and their first date was at David’s family Lake Beulah home. Laura stayed the whole day, hung out and had dinner with the whole family. She stayed in the guest room that evening so they could continue their time together the next day. It went so well, David asked Laura to come to New York the very next weekend and spend the 4th of July weekend with his friends at his share house in East Hampton. So she quickly made arrangements and flew out later that week for a full four-day weekend together. Since then, they have made countless flights and a couple of moves to be together. In September of 2014 Laura made the final move to New York!
Over Memorial Day weekend in 2016, David proposed while Laura’s family was in NYC visiting. As they were headed to Madison Square Park to meet Laura’s brother and “a friend for coffee”, David got down on one knee right after entering the park on 26th and Madison. Laura of course said yes, and Laura’s brother was hiding to capture it all! From there we went to a rooftop jazz brunch where we met up with Laura’s parents and a bottle of champagne waiting.
