Alissa & Ben are married! Their beautiful wedding ceremony was held at the UW-Arboretum. The celebration continued at the Nakoma Country Club in Madison.
When Alissa & Ben first met, they were in a business ethics class together at UW-Madison. Alissa made the first move though. When she saw Ben out at a bar, she approached him and struck up conversation. Who knew, that conversation would lead us here. After graduation, Alissa and Ben moved to Chicago together. After five-years of dating, Ben convinced Alissa to join him on the rooftop deck of their condo. He said, “With the Chicago skyline as the backdrop, I pulled the ring out of my pocket and popped the question. Through tears, she said “‘Yes!'”
Through our conversations before the wedding, we knew Alissa & Ben were so looking forward to being husband and wife. Their ceremony at the Arboretum was simple and heartfelt. Their favorite part of the day? “Walking hand-in-hand down the aisle as husband and wife during the recessional.” Then, with some tear jerking speeches, they danced the night away with their friends and family. It was a beautifully classic and elegant day in Madison!
Their advice to future brides and grooms is so great, we have to share:
1. Delegate where possible/appropriate.
2. Don’t get hung up on the small details – Pinterest can make you crazy!
3. Sneak away for a few minutes on your wedding day, just the two of you. The private moments we shared immediately after the ceremony and practicing our first dance during dinner are ones we truly cherish.
4. Stay true to yourself and plan a day that reflects you as a couple.
Alissa & Ben added, “We could go on and on about our wedding day. The only thing that can concisely sum up our day is… we feel very fortunate. As we look back on the day, the only thing we would change is something we can’t – having more time! The day goes by so fast so enjoy every minute!”
