Welcome to the world Jack & Raymond!

Over the summer of 2017, we recently found out our best friends Michelle & Nick were expecting their first baby! On August 22, the day of their first ultrasound, Michelle & Nick would hear the baby’s heartbeat and feel an official “start” to this nine-month journey. With the sonogram up on the monitor, the doctor scanned and said, “So, what do you think?”

“I can’t tell what I’m looking at,” Nick replied. She moved the cursor to point at a white mass. “This right here is a baby,” she continued, “And this right here…” moving the cursor, “…is a baby.”

After leaving the appointment, Nick updated our close knit group of friends. With excitement, Nick text all of us a photo of the ultrasound. A quick follow-up text read: Twins. Clearly labeled on the ultrasound was “Twin A” and “Twin B”. Nick blogged about the experience here. Reading their personal experience through this is worth the read!

At 8:34 and 8:35AM on February 26, Michelle & Nick welcomed Jack Matthew and Raymond Lee into the world. In the blink of an eye, they’re already one-month old! Nick gave us a unique first-hand experience at being on the other side of the camera:

When your first children are twins, it can get pretty crazy and Michelle and I are lucky that we have had such great help from our families and friends. Sometimes, doing extra things with newborns, like this shoot, can seem too daunting, but we trusted TJ and Shannon would make it a great experience.

The session was awesome, specifically because of TJ and Shannon’s knowledge and recommendations. We were worried that the R&J would be fussy, so Michelle and I started off by following TJ and Shannon’s direction to bottle-feed the boys just before the shoot (We enjoyed a beverage ourselves, as well). The warm, calm environment led them to sleep nearly through the whole shoot. When Jack started to stir, TJ was quick to play some white noise and the baby fell right back asleep. Shannon did an awesome job soothing and positioning the babies, and, together, they led us through a number of natural poses. These little tricks TJ and Shannon have learned were the key to great photos.

We find ourselves remarking often that we are lucky to have such talented friends, and such a helpful, caring family. I so excited to share these adorable photos and can’t wait to revisit them and share them with others as the twins grow up.

Without further ado, Jack & Ray!

Congratulations Michelle & Nick!
