Sara & Kenny | A Milwaukee Lakefront Wedding

share /

Sara & Kenny are married! On a beautiful summer day in Milwaukee, they were married along lakefront.

Sara & Kenny met here in Milwaukee a few years ago. Kenny wanted to learn how to play classical guitar so he signed up for lessons from this pretty blonde named Sara. Kenny fell for Sara instantly but Sara fought it a little bit. She’d tell her friends, “I think he likes me, but I’m not sure.” Well… a few lessons in, these two were hooked on each other. They’ve been playing together since in countries around the world! Before their wedding, they were touring in Europe. They played in Germany, Switzerland, London and Sara’s home country of Italy. They quite literally compliment each other greater than any couple we’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing!

For their wedding in Milwaukee, Sara & Kenny’s friends and family from around the globe gathered to celebrate these two talented individuals come together. Their wedding was a collaboration between many cultures and traditions. Sara, incorporated some Italian customs and Kenny brought the American character.

Together they did tons of DIY projects that added so much love to the day. For starters, Karen, Kenny’s mother helped with tons of the planning. As this is our third wedding with their family (seriously – how cool), we know Karen should probably just start a side business. Both families helped with their invitations. Sara’s hair and makeup were done by her sister, Ida. Francisco Hernandez, a former guitar student of Sara’s, played music during the wedding along side Sara’s mother, Martha. Kenny & Sara’s procession was also played by Dinorah Marquez and Latino Arts Strings Program students – a program Sara used to be very involved with when she lived in Milwaukee. Sara’s Italian family hand crochet “centrini”. Sara’s head-piece was decided on by her grandmother and created in her home town of Lamezia Terme. The Italian family also brought confetti and almond sweets from Sara’s home town as well (they were to die for). Kenny’s family surprised the couple with a custom-made ping-pong table! There were so many unique details and all of it was very Sara & Kenny!

With so much custom details adding so much character to their day, Sara & Kenny still said their favorite part of the wedding day was the ceremony. Their biggest surprise though was the ping pong table!
