Emma & Matt | Milwaukee Athletic Club

Emma & Matt are married! Their ceremony was at Church of Gesu in Milwaukee. The celebration continued at the Milwaukee Athletic Club.

Emma and Matthew met in 2010 in Marquette University’s Athletic Training room. Matt was a sophomore soccer player and Emma a freshman trying to pick her degree. After initially meeting, the two rarely talked in the training room because Matt knew Athletic Trainer / Player relations were not allowed. A long string of events including an injury, academic shift and Facebook these two began dating short after. Matt proposed on February 6, 2015. To surprise Emma, Matt had set up a fake business dinner for Emma and her past clinical instructor (CI) from her previous internship. Dinner was set for 7pm at Hotel Metro. Being a naturally late female, Emma couldn’t find parking for over 20 minutes frantically searching for a spot on the street. Matt, who had told Emma he had a late meeting that night, was texting her telling her how unprofessional she was being showing up late to this meeting. Emma finally found a spot and began sprinting down the street in her parka like a mad woman. She quickly pulled out her phone to follow the directions her CI had texted to her on how to get to the top floor to the restaurant. As Emma continued sprinting up the stairs to the final floor she stopped in awe at the site of Matt, not her CI, standing in a pathway of roses. As got down on to one knee and proposed. The night continued with a celebration with our families and friends for a night we will forever remember.

Their ceremony was early in the day and really opened up Emma & Matt’s wedding day. Emma said her favorite part of the day was, “walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing my husband for the first time. All of my nerves were gone once I saw him.” And for Matt, “The biggest surprise was when my wife walked down the aisle and I saw her in her dress. She looked unbelievable!”

The reception, on the other hand, was wild. For us, there’s something about the Milwaukee Athletic Club that promotes crazy dance floors! Sound by Design rocked the house while all family and friends danced the night away. Emma said, “Our dance floor was the MOST PACKED I’ve ever seen at a wedding.”

As for their advice for future brides & grooms, “Take time out of your day to stop and take in each moment for what it’s worth. The day goes by so fast and these are the moments you want to remember forever. My husband and I did this at our mass, pictures, and reception and we are so happy we did!”
