Marnie & Michael are married! They had a Florida destination wedding with their family and closest friends.
These two met in 2010 from a mutual friend but it wasn’t until winter of 2012 when they decided to go on their first real date. After dating for a year and a half, on a Sunday in September, Michael asked Marnie to join him on their rooftop where he had strung up lights and hung up their hammock. He gave her a card with a post it note inside asking her to marry him (this is a cute tradition they have done since the beginning of their relationship). As he nervously got down on one knee, she replied “really?!” With tears in both of their eyes, she said yes! And here we are today.
Their wedding day in Destin, Florida was the perfect mix of intimate, untraditional + tradition and perfect. Marnie threw tradition into the wind while picking out bridesmaid dresses. She gave her girls a color and let them free. The result was the most beautiful collection of dresses. Each dress flattered each individual girl. This is definitely our newest favorite wedding style. Marnie & Michael both had a hard time picking their favorite part of the day but ultimately said it was their first kiss under the large tree at Eden State Park.
The private home they rented for the week had about 100 rooms in it. So many friends stayed with them the whole week. They had a week-long reception with their friends by the pool, eating, drinking, hanging out. What a way to celebrate! They said their biggest surprise was “Michael’s Mom deciding to truly get into the pool on the wedding night in her dress… thought she was teasing but she wasn’t!”
Their advice for future brides & grooms: “There are going to be things that bug you, not go according to plan, and even people who suddenly can’t make it. End of the day, always remind yourselves. All you two truly need is each other for this to happen! Open your mind and heart to love and it’ll happen!”
They also said, “We don’t know how many times we said to one another “that couldn’t have been more perfect”. EVERYTHING. From music, weather, catering, venues, lighting, the ceremony itself, how everyone looked, to how positive everyone was… good vibes were just being had the entire day. It was amazing to see our people mesh so easily together. That’s exactly what we had hoped and envisioned. Our photographers are two of the best people we know and made us so comfy being captured together. Add the wonderful speeches, and the pool party at the end of the night and it could not have been more perfect!” Aw shucks…
