Katie & Mike | Wedding photography Milwaukee

Well it’s been a while since I’ve had a full post but I’ve had good reason.  For the past two weeks or so, I’ve been down in Mexico shooting two separate weddings so I’ve finally had the chance to get back to work on previous weddings.  This one comes from Katie and Mike who got ready at the Ambassador Hotel and then married at the Tripoli Shrine here in Milwaukee.  If you remember from their engagement session that I shot last winter, Mike and Katie are two artists out of Minnesota and their work was prominent throughout the details of their wedding.  Two things that really stood out about their wedding was their cake and their slideshow.  As you’ll see from the pictures, the cake had the theme of “The Creature From the Black Lagoon” and they even used an ax to cut the cake.   And their slideshow…. it was the best I’ve seen at a wedding.  Katie created it herself using stop animation technique, it was so creative.  One other cool thing that happened at their wedding was Mike’s Grandma couldn’t make the ceremony so they set up a webcam for her to watch it.  It was a really cool moment for everyone.

Katie and Mike decided to do their “first look” at the Ambassador which will explain the picture below.  If you follow my blog at all, you know that I like it when couples decide to do this because it really opens up the rest of the day in terms of finding time to take pictures without feeling rushed.  I know it’s not for every couple but it’s something to think about when planning your wedding day.

Take a look at how their wedding day looked like to me:
