Emily & Michael | A Rainy Day at the Pfister Hotel

share /

In 1893, Guido Pfister and his son Charles, completed construction on the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee. At the time, it towered over every building in Milwaukee and was suited with “modern amenities” like fireproofing and thermostats in each room. Through the years, the Pfister has gone through many renovations, all while keeping it’s historic charm. It really makes us say “if these walls could talk…”

In August of 2025, Emily & Michael were married at the Pfister! Most of their guests were from out of town, so the Pfister was the perfect spot to begin showing off our unique city.

During the reception, Emily & Michael stood on the ballroom balcony and waited for their names to be announced. Emily said this was her favorite part of the day. She said, “when Michael and I were waiting to be introduced and hiding behind the curtains above the ballroom. It was the first time the entire day that it was just him and I, and it was nice to just catch out breaths and be with each other!”

Michael’s favorite part of the day was seeing the ballroom for the first time. He said, “When we were let in early to the ballroom to see it before the guests were let in. The room was beautiful and Emily looked so happy to see all of her planning and hard work come together.”

Together, they agreed the wedding day flies by. “Everyone tells you, but you don’t truly understand it until you’re in it,” they said.

Emily & Michael kept sight of what was important on the wedding day – to marry the person you love! Details are there but at the end of the day, it’s just the two of you celebrating in a very old building.

Congratulations Emily & Michael!
