Emily & Erik | Wedding photography Milwaukee

With this post, I’m 44% of the way done with my 2011 wedding season.  I can’t believe it.

This wedding was awesome.  Flat out, it was awesome.  The ceremony and reception were both held on site at the Discovery Zone at Pier Wisconsin here in downtown Milwaukee.  Because it was a Friday wedding and time is of the essence, Emily and Erik elected to do a “first look.”  I’ve said it before but any couple who gets married on Friday should really consider this.  It opens up the day so much.  We had plenty of time for pictures and even more time to just relax.

Emily and Erik spent a lot of time planning out the details of their wedding and you could definitely tell.  From the colors to the table place cards, nothing was overlooked.  I walked around the tent before any of the guests were allowed in (I can do that, I’m the photographer!) and I couldn’t help but be impressed by everything.  I’ve been to plenty of weddings now but this one ranks up there for being most “professional.”  The staff at Discovery Pier was great to work with and the food was some of the best I’ve had at a wedding.  They made sure all the guests were treated as well as Emily and Erik.  They weren’t the only ones that were impressive as the guys from Sound By Design were great too.  I feel Emily and Erik made the right decision in choosing to do “up-lighting” as opposed to the other lighting that is offered by DJ companies.  Up lighting creates a much more dramatic look.  You’ll see this in the pictures.

Ok I’ll stop raving about the wedding.  But it was great.  And Emily and Erik were great.  I’m not sure if Emily stopped smiling at any point during the day.  That makes it pretty easy for me.  And like always, everyone in the wedding was very friendly.  A special thanks to the ladies of the wedding party for calling me by my nickname..
