Alex & Elliott | A Wedding at Cuvee in the Third Ward

share /

Alex & Elliott are married!

As Shannon and Alex left Elliott’s mother’s house in Glendale, they talked about how excited Alex was to see Elliott. Since they had a later ceremony, a First Look gave them the flexibility and freedom to relax and enjoy more of the day together. Both Alex and Elliott said the First Look was their favorite moment of the day.

Alex said summed it up well by saying, “…the moment we got to see each other it made the stress of the planning , the anticipation of the day & everything else around us melt away. It was so wonderful. It was the perfect time for just us to be together before the day got crazy.” And the day did get crazy but these two bushed all hiccups aside. Elliott even said he was surprised at how much fun he had. He said it was “literally the best day!”

In the mix of a crazy day, Alex made it a point to plan some time away with not only Elliott but herself. (( I, Shannon, as a natural introvert absolutely love this)) Alex said, “take time not only for each other during the day, but also for yourself. I got that piece of advice from a friend who got married the week before us and I’m so thankful for that. I got up early in the morning to just reflect on the day ahead, appreciate the calm moments before the getting ready events and all the excitement got started and made sure I had everything I would need throughout the day. I’m so glad I did because it left me feeling so excited and present in the moment throughout the day.”

After a full year of planning with a home purchase thrown in the mix, Alex & Elliott have a couple other takeaways for future couples.

Alex: Be in the moment. It goes by so fast, everyone tells you that, but it really does. Enjoy the celebration to the absolute fullest. Eat too many desserts, smile so much your face hurts and dance to all the 90s pop songs.

Elliott: Grooms, step into the aisle when the bride is walking down, otherwise you can’t see her since everyone is standing up! Brides, slow down! Ahead of time, assign the bridesmaids and groomsmen specific tasks and responsibilities. Make sure they know what to do. Best man should be in charge of pinning the flowers and maid of honor should be in charge of the wrist corsage.

Congratulations Alex & Elliott!
