Helena & Josh | A Wedding at Creek Bend Nature Center

As wedding photographers, every week is different. It’s different in so many ways that is hard to articulate in words. It’s actually hard to express it, period. Every wedding, every couple, the weather, every day is different. It’s one of the many joys of our “job”.

Helena & Josh, first of all, are so cool. Like, 100% cooler than us. They met at Millikin University. Helena said she first laid eyes on Josh when he was in a boy band, performing! The two started hanging out because the guitar player in the band was dating Helena’s roommate.

These two planned the most perfect wedding day. It was set at the Creek Bend Nature Center in St. Charles, Illinois. The grounds are beautiful and lush. The house on the grounds is charming and full of light. Helena’s modern BHLDN gown paired perfectly with the setting!

Helena & Josh agreed their favorite part of the day was dancing. And, to be honest, it was one of our favorite parts too! This was the first “Snake Dance” we experienced and it’s officially burned into our brains. If you don’t know what the snake dance is, you’re in for a treat. Helena actually said, “I was hoping for this, but wasn’t sure if it would be the case. Everybody just looked like they were having the time of their lives!” Everyone most certainly WAS having the time of their lives! The dance floor literally did. not. stop.
