Abby & Marshall are married!
We knew Abby & Marshall’s wedding at St. James 1868 and the Pritzlaff was going to be beautiful. But I don’t think we knew just how beautiful it would turn out to be. Abby planned this with the help of Cori from the Pritzlaff and the strong team behind Events by Design. A dream came to life. Like, it actually felt like walking in a dream. There were Moroccan chandeliers, colorful plating, exotic floral!
When planning the wedding, Abby & Marshall went outside of the Pinterest bubble, which is appreciated by *literally* everyone. She said, “Be inspired by color and textiles and fashion, by nature and landscapes, and architecture and interior design. Listen to your gut and run towards the things that excite you.”
On planning, Abby & Marshall said, “Stay true to who you are as a couple and don’t let the pressure of others or the wedding industry derail you.” They also stressed communicating with your partner! “Communicate with your partner!! Talk about your dreams, goals, and expectations for the wedding day early and often. Be patient with each other. Ask for help and be willing to receive help when it’s offered to you.”
Take your time selecting your vendors. Make sure their style, aesthetic, and personalities align with yours. Read their contracts and understand their process, from start to finish. Once you’ve locked them in, be prepared to clearly communicate your vision. During moments of uncertainty, lean on them for advice and let them offer their expertise. Give them the freedom to express their creative genius. Encourage them, celebrate them, and THANK THEM. Their work and artistry is their livelihood, but they are humans with real feelings and real responsibilities outside of work. Be considerate and appreciative of the work that you see, and of the work that you will not see going on behind the scenes.
Can this be better music to a wedding professionals ears? These two were so sweet and they were so true the above.
