Rachel & Chris are married!
There’s always a diamond in the rough. Almost 10 years ago, Rachel & Chris were the diamonds in the UWM rough. When you’re younger (or, hell, even as grown adults) sometimes we have to do jobs we don’t necessary love. We call them “dirty jobs” when we talk about them. When Rachel & Chris accepted jobs through UWM cleaning dorm rooms, we’re certain the first thing on their mind wasn’t “I’m going to meet the love of my life while being a janitor”.
Well, that’s exactly what happened. Sometimes those tasks in life that we need to do, accept jobs that we don’t want, opens up a lot of doors. Separately, Rachel & Chris meet lifelong friends, formed relationships and most importantly, met each other. Who knew cleaning dorm rooms would lead us here today?
These two have formed their relationship on some core values. It started as a friendship that turned into the real deal. On the wedding morning, Rachel said she woke up and immediately thought “I get to marry my best friend today”. These simple words got Rachel & Chris through the stress and energy of their wedding day. They said, “it’s easy to get caught up in the stress of things going smoothly, but you have to remember…you are marrying your very best friend-so kick the stress to the curb!”
Along with the First Look (Rachel & Chris said, “it is the best feeling in the whole world! Don’t skip the First Look!”), Rachel told us her favorite moment of the day was immediately after the ceremony.
“It was such a powerful moment of being together. The true marking of our next adventure. It was the most overwhelming and joyous feeling! We hugged and kissed one another, and reveled in that moment of WE MARRIED!”
Chris, who isn’t a big fan of crowds, said his favorite moment of the day was
“the moments I had alone with Rachel. Once the dancing had started, TJ encouraged us to spend some time up on the rooftop of the venue alone. I finally got to say “how are you?” to Rachel, and take a deep breath. Thanks TJ! Also spending time with our closest friends, it’s really incredible as the night goes on to look out at the dance floor and see all of your best friends in one spot.”
These two are the best. Congratulations Rachel & Chris!
