Well another year in the books…. and what a year it was. 2010 completed my 4th season doing wedding photography. I use the number 4 lightly though because the first 2 seasons I only did 4 weddings. This year, completely different…
I started thinking about this post back in June. When I put together this slideshow last year, I remember it being quite the task to go through a years worth of pictures to pick out my favorites. I knew this year would be a lot harder to do that because I took twice the amount of pictures than I did in 2009. So this season, after a shoot I’d put my favorites in a separate folder so I wouldn’t have to sort through them again. The hardest part this year was picking out the accompanying music.
Like I mentioned before, I did twice the amount of shooting as I did in previous years. And it was awesome. Over the course of the past year I shot 18 weddings, 12 engagement sessions, and 9 family sessions. In that time, I took 34,841 photographs, had 20,144 visitors to my website, and had an astonishing (at least to me!) 250,000+ photo views on my flickr account. That means my pictures were viewed a quarter of a million times. And besides traveling all over Wisconsin, I had weddings in Minnesota and Mexico (twice).
When I think about all those things, I feel overwhelmed a bit. I remember looking at my schedule, one that included a weekend that I had 3 different weddings all over the state, and wondering how I was going to manage it all. Looking back now, this past summer was one of the best of my life. I got to meet so many great people doing this every weekend. My experiences are things I’ll never forget and I only have YOU to thank. YOU being the people who visit this page. I couldn’t do this without the people who share this page with their friends or tell someone about what I do. I’ll never ever take for granted the messages that people send me letting me know they enjoy my photography. The fact that you guys take a minute out of your day to look at my page or send me a message or tell your friends what I do…. that means the world to me. Honestly. I’m not trying to be overly sentimental about this. It’s just that I truly and genuinely appreciate it all. So thank you. Again and again.
Like I did last year, I put together a slide show with all my favorite pictures from this season. It’s a fairly quick moving slideshow but it had to be… it’s 8 minutes moving as quickly as it does. Every session has a least one photograph in the slideshow. It’s in no particular order so you’ll have to watch the whole thing to see what picture(s) I included from each. To everyone that is in the slideshow… thank you again. I loved working with every single one of you and thank you for including me in on your special day.
P.S. Last year I received a few emails about the music so I’ll save you guys the trouble. The first song is from the band Onward, Soldiers called “Let The Time Roll By”.
