Makenzie & Erik are married!
After initially meeting at a Badger tailgate, Makenzie & Erik went on their first date seven months later. Tutto Pasta on State Street will forever hold a spot in their noodle-y hearts. Although they asked Tutto to deliver mostaccioli for their late-night snack, Tutto politely declined (this is a 100% fabricated snack story).
Kenzie & Erik truthfully ended up having Main Moon Chinese Restaurant in Sussex, which is owned by Erik’s family friends!
They both said the ceremony was their favorite part of the day. The rain stopped just as Kenzie was walking down the aisle. And they wrote the ceremony together, choosing the readings, making it personal to them. They both also loved dinner when they were able to sit down and look out at all the people who came to celebrate.
For their advice to future couples…
Make it personal! Skip the traditions you aren’t crazy about, make up your own. Plan early so you get first pick of your favorite vendors, and a longer timeline helps relieve some of the stress of planning too. On your wedding day, take time as a couple to step away for some alone time, either right after the ceremony or after dinner. Have a welcome party the night before or dedicate cocktail hour to small talk/greeting family/making the rounds, then you can enjoy the rest of the night on the dance floor!
Congratulations Makenzie & Erik!
