Alyson & Ryan | A Door County Winter Wedding

Alyson & Ryan are married!

The night before Alyson & Ryan’s wedding, a beautiful storm front moved through Wisconsin. While it made for slippery roads, the views in Door County (and much of Wisconsin for that matter) were stunning. As we drove north, from Milwaukee to the Door County Peninsula, the snow got whiter and the fields were simply glowing.

Alyson’s family has a cabin in Ephraim, Wisconsin. It’s a cute cottage that is slowly being renovated to reflect their personal style. The family visits a lot but Alyson & Ryan realized their favorite time in Door County is during the winter. It’s less touristy and they love the way the snow looks. Because of this, they decided to get married up there in February at Horseshoe Bay Golf Club. It was an easy decision for them.

Going across the peninsula to Cave Point County Park was super important to Alyson & Ryan. With the fresh snow, the drive there was a little slower than normal but it was worth the drive. The ice crystals against the rocks created the most unique views. Alyson & Ryan said visiting the park together was their most favorite memory of the day. Also, the “weather was just what we wanted – cold, crisp, sunny, with snow on the ground”.

They also incorporated her favorite color: purple and his favorite beers: Door County Brewing and Toppling Goliath into the day. They said, “Remember your wedding day is about you and the love you have for each other. Nothing else matters. Wake up on your wedding morning and smile knowing you have planned the perfect wedding that represents you and your future spouse.”
