Chrissy & Pat | Wedding photography Milwaukee

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to play softball.  I suppose it goes back to when I was growing up and I would be outside playing ball for as long as I could.  A few years ago, I joined a team and Pat was the left fielder and leadoff hitter.  The first thing I remember about him was how fast he could run.  He could fly.  More importantly, we just got along really well.  So one night after a game, he asked me if I wanted to go see Huey Lewis & the News at Summerfest with his brothers and then maybe out to meet this girl and her friends.  My mom is probably the biggest Huey Lewis fan in the world so by default I’ve always kinda been a fan.  I asked him who this girl was and he just said, I don’t know, I just met her… she’ll have friends there too.  Of course I was gonna go then.  And that was the first time I met Chrissy.  The story was told a few times at the wedding so I won’t repeat it but I remember the weeks that followed and how much he would talk about her and how they have been hanging out.

As it seems to happen every time my friends get engaged, Pat called me up and asked if I wanted to come to his wedding as a guest or photograph it.  You really can’t do both.  If I’m photographing a wedding, I’m constantly looking around for the best angles, lighting etc.  If I go as a guest, I’m usually near the bar.  But honestly, I really love photographing weddings so why wouldn’t I take the opportunity to do it.  They got married at the beautiful Old St. Mary’s church downtown here in Milwaukee and the reception was held at the Marcus Center of the Performing Arts.  It turned out to be a really great day.  Here is how I saw their day:
