This year, Megan and John celebrated Mother’s Day at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center.
This happy couple picked Mother’s Day for a very special and emotional reason. When we first started talking with Megan and John, they explained both of their mothers have passed. Megan said, “we’ve both missed having our mom’s at more than a few big life events. We thought that it was the best way to honor and include the amazing women who gave us life (and I suspect they colluded in heaven to bring us together!) on our special day; especially since they can’t physically be there with us.” So sweet!
Though the weather on their wedding day was a bit gloomy, their family and friends came together for this beautiful celebration. We even got lucky with some fog and captured some really romantic photographs. Megan and John said that sneaking away was their favorite part of the day. She said “it was the first bit of quiet we had to ourselves to just take a deep breath. I think that’s when it sank in that we really got married!”
What was the biggest surprise on their wedding day? “…Everything came together perfectly.” See for yourself!
