Life has a funny way of working things out. A few years ago, Rachel moved from Nashville to Milwaukee with her employer. She didn’t plan on staying long. Having grown up in Minnesota, she’d just about had it with cold, snowy winters. Until, she met CJ. They were set up on a date because Rachel wanted to learn the ropes in photography. CJ is a very talented photographer and artist. Check out his work here. Well, as we know, the date went well and Rachel has stayed in Wisconsin since. These to were in engaged in October of 2014 and planned a wedding for April. We were absolutely honored when our friends asked us to photograph their beautiful wedding at Ruby Tap in Wauwatosa.
If we could bottle up Rachel and CJ’s wedding day, we would. The day was completely focused on surrounding themselves with people they love and that love them. They said their favorite part of the day was the first look and being able to spend most of the day together. They had incredible weather, one matron of honor, a beautiful and simple gown paired with pairings CJ picked out from H&M and TJ Maxx.
Rachel said: “It was our dream wedding. Exactly what we wanted, simple & intimate. The ceremony was meaningful & the reception was beautiful & laid back. We are so so happy!”
Their advice for future Brides and Grooms:
“Stress is a choice! Yes, there is a lot to do…but don’t let it weigh you down. Stay organized & create memories. You don’t want to look back and regret being frazzled. CJ and I decided at the very beginning that we weren’t going to let wedding planning cause arguments, if something was causing that much stress then it wasn’t necessary. Simple & meaningful is the way to go!”
All the sweet, little details…
