Laurie & John were married at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Their celebration continued at the Seven Seas in Hartland, Wisconsin.
These two have a great story. They met in 2004 while Laurie was working at a tanning salon. She was working, and he was tanning! When he was done, Laurie quickly made up a story about how someone had hit his car while he was baking. Since the story was, obviously, false, he came back into the salon to chat with her. The two ended up dating for a year before parting ways. They remained friends but life separated them for a while when John moved to New Jersey. When he moved back home, and they finally hung out again, they realized it was always meant to be. John proposed and they planned their wedding for October 31. Which is also Laurie’s birthday!
Laurie’s father, who suffered a stroke a few years ago, went through Occupational Therapy before the wedding to learn how to walk her down the aisle. He did great!! There was not one dry eye! Laurie said when her dad walked her down the aisle was her favorite moment of the whole day. Johns was on the other side of the aisle, seeing Laurie for the first time. Laurie and her dad’s first dance, also, was so sweet. So awesome, Dad!
Laurie & John’s actual wedding day was a bit gloomy. It was foggy, cold, wet but a little weather didn’t stop anyone! So many of Laurie and John’s friends came out to celebrate with these two. They said, “We just really want to say thank you so much to our parents for everything, and to all our family, friends, and vendors for all their hard work and for helping making our day so special.”
You’ll see at the end of the post, we did a day-after session with Laurie and John. To keep the Halloween theme going, Laurie and John had their makeup done in Day of the Dead theme. They got in their wedding attire again and used their same flowers, though they were a little droopy. The weather was perfect and the sunset was… oh… just look. We’re so sorry Mother Nature didn’t cooperate like this for their actual wedding day but you’ve gotta see their Day-After session!
