Andrea and Brian’s wedding day in Madison couldn’t have been better. The ceremony was held at the Overture Center of the Arts and the celebration continued at the historic Madison Masonic Center.
Although the forecast did call for rain in the morning, not a drop fell all day. Instead, their rooftop ceremony was hotter than hot. With a little help from their friends, everything came together. Here’s a special shout out to everyone involved. They wanted to incorporate friends and family as much as possible so they added personalized touches everywhere they could to make the day incredibly meaningful. So…
- They held rehearsal dinner at the Great Dane (where they met while attending UW-Madison),
- Had a cake made of cheese wheels because they love cheese so much and wanted to give our out-of town-guests a taste of Wisconsin,
- The cocktail hour music was from a concert they recently attended together,
- The unity ceremony beer was the same beer Brian used to propose to Andrea with,
- The lace on Andreas’s bouquet is from the mother-of-the-bride’s wedding dress,
- Andrea’s veil was borrowed from a good friend,
- The ivy on the ceremony arch was from the mother-of-the-bride’s yard,
- The handkerchief on the ring bearer’s pillow was from Brian’s grandmother,
- The ceremony readers were good friends of the bride and groom and choose a reading to delightfully surprise them,
- Cribbage was referenced in the vows because it is one of Andrea and Brian’s favorite pastimes (even though Andrea always wins :),
- The ceremony DJ played hockey with the groom,
- … they even found out our officiant is a cousin of an aunt of the bride!
With all of this, it was still their biggest surprise that their “guests sheer excitement and outpouring of love for us was the best feeling!” –
