Laura & Jon are married!
In the middle of winter, we got an email from Laura & Jon. We knew they were newly engaged because we follow them on social media. These two have been part of several weddings we’ve been a part of dating all the way back to 2012! We first met Jon when he officiated Kim & Brad’s wedding in Puerto Vallarta! Although him and Laura had been dating for a while, we didn’t meet her until last year at Courtney & Eric’s wedding when Shannon poured water down her dress while trying to take a picture of this adorable couple. Let’s say, we all got off on a good start!
Hanging out with Laura & Jon is simply like hanging out with friends, because they are! The day literally couldn’t have been more perfect. The weather in La Crosse was in the 90’s and the sun was shining – making for some sweatiness. But, you know what? It wasn’t snowing. The breeze coming off the river cooled guests as they cocktailed and the Lacroix Laura & Jon had on the patio sure helped.
For their First Look, we headed to Como Falls in Minnesota. Instead of a traditional First Look (turn around style), Laura & Jon walked toward each other and met in the middle (Laura said this was her favorite part of the day). They read vows to each other in private before headed to La Crosse for their wedding ceremony. We then headed to Mount La Crosse Ski Hill for some seriously intense St. Bernard action. That’s right. If you love St. Bernard’s (or even just dogs for that matter), make this a stop next time you’re in town. The bar is FULL of St. Bernard paintings, photos, sculptures, knickknacks (Jon ended up saying this was his favorite part of the day). It’s incredible!
So were there any surprises? Laura’s biggest surprise was Jon signing”I’ve been waiting for a girl like you.” into the microphone at dinner. And Jon said, “How pretty my bride looked in her beautiful dress.”
Their advice for future couples: “Splurge on the music”. We couldn’t agree more!
Congratulations Laura & Jon!
